Germany Legalizes Gay Marriage!
Today, German lawmakers voted by 393–226 to legalize gay marriage. While Germany has an extreme liberal reputation outside of Europe, Germany is a fairly conservative, Christian country. The ruling party is the center-right Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU), and Angela Merkel herself—the daughter of a pastor—has long vetoed any free vote on gay marriage. The surprise is less… Read more →
Sense8 Cancelled! How? Why? Wha……!?
So I woke up this morning and noticed I had a notification on my phone from Twitter. I launched the app, looked at the notification and then jumped back into my feed. As the feed refreshed, I had come to read a tweet from Brian J. Smith, one of the actors from Sense8. You all are putting up an incredible… Read more →
Just absolutely PURE: Sense8
So I was recently displaced from my home due to a small fire that we had in our house. Thankfully, we were blessed to be put up in a local hotel by our insurance company. Anyway, I got a room to myself and had soon learned that I’d be calling it my new home for a month. I ended up… Read more →
Austin and Aaron Rhodes: The Famous “Twins Come Out To Dad” twins
So I’m sure by now you’ve all seen the two gorgeous gay twins, Austin and Aaron Rhodes, on YouTube that recorded their phone call with their father, where they came out to him. They’re 19 and now starting their lives. They posted the video and it became an instant YouTube hit with over 14 million views (and counting). The video has made headlines across America and I can say that I can’t honestly be happier for them. It’s very hard to come out to your parents and I honestly think it’s surprisingly harder to come out to your parents with a sibling than most think. Either way, their story and video is amazing.
Kudos to Apple !
Have you seen the latest video to from from Apple on their YouTube channel? If not, you MUST MUST watch it. First of all, they used my FAVORITE song, “A Sky Full of Stars” by Coldplay. Second, the video showed their public support for their LGBT employees and the LGBT community and it is just *AWESOME*. Being a marketing specialist, I must say this was so well done. The message is simple: “Pride” – there was no need for anything else in their title and the video spoke for itself. The music selection was just excellent, and I’m not saying that b/c I LOVE Coldplay and that song, but it really works here.
